Mango Coconut Barfi

Barfi, Burfee or Burfi however you want to spell it is a Mithai or a Sweet from the Indian subcontinent. Ripe Mango tastes divine but imagine, making a sweet dish out of it.

Today I am sharing one of my favorite and lip-smacking savory known as Mango Coconut Barfi. As the name says it uses desiccated Coconut and of course ripe Mangoes with some added Sugar. It is easy, simple and yet interesting on the other hand.

  • 2 Chopped ripe mango
  • 2 cup Desiccated coconut
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Corn flour
  • for garnish Cashew nuts
  • for grease Ghee

  • 2 Chopped ripe mango
  • 2 cup Desiccated coconut
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Corn flour
  • for garnish Cashew nuts
  • for grease Ghee
Instructions
  1. Place chopped mango, sugar and cornflour in a blender. Blend it and make a thick puree and keep aside.
  2. Now, roast desiccated coconut in a pan for 2 minutes on medium flame.
  3. After 2 minutes, transfer it to a bowl and keep aside.
  4. Now, pour mango thick puree in a hot pan and stir continuously for 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. After 15 minutes, mango puree should change color.
  6. Furthermore, add roasted desiccated coconut in the pan and stir it continuously for 5 minutes.
  7. Now, take one steel plate and grease some ghee on the plate.
  8. Place this mango barfi mixture into the plate and spread it evenly all over the plate.
  9. Garnish mango barfi with some cashew nuts. keep aside and rest for 1 hour.
  10. After 1 hour, put the plate on low flame for 5 seconds. Then cut into pieces.
  11. Serve with lunch.
