Methi Gota|Kurkura Pakoda

Methi Gota or Methi Korkura Pakoda is a fried snack. A Pakoda has many names including Pakodi, Pakora, fakkura, ponako, bhajiya or bhajji. Originated from the Indian subcontinent Metho Gota is a popular snack. Especially in Gujarat it’s famous street food and can be found not just in Towns but in interior villages as well.

  • 1 cup Besan (gram flour)
  • 2 tsp Rice flour
  • 1 cup Fresh methi leaves
  • 1/2 cup Coriander leaves (chopped)
  • to taste or 1 tsp Green  chili
  • 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 pinches Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Kasuri Methi
  • 1 tsp Coriander seeds(crushed)
  • 1 tsp Fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp Carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 small packet or 1 tsp Eno(soda)

  • 1 cup Besan (gram flour)

  • 1 tsp Carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 small packet or 1 tsp Eno(soda)
Instructions
  1. Mix all the ingredients with some water in a big mixing bowl and make a thick batter.
  2. After that add eno the mixture and mix it well.
  3. Now, heat the oil in a pan on medium heat for deep frying.
  4. Once the oil is hot then take 2-3 tsp oil and add into the batter and mix it well.
  5. Now drop small balls in the oil using your hand or with the help of two spoons.
  6. After some time move them around and fry till they become golden brown.
  7. Remove them on a paper towel-lined dish.
  8. Serve immediately with green chili and onion or tea.
