Khichdi or khichri, is a dish from the Indian subcontinent made from rice and lentils (dal), but other variations include bajra and mung dal kichri. In Indian culture, it is considered one of the first solid foods that babies eat

  • 3/4 cup Rice
  • 1/4 cup Moong Dal
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 cup Water
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • few Curry leaves

  • 3/4 cup Rice
  • 1/4 cup Moong Dal
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 cup Water
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • few Curry leaves
Instructions
  1. Soak moong dal and rice for 15 minutes in a bowl.
  2. After 15 minutes, drain it and put on a pressure cooker.
  3. Next add water, salt, turmeric powder and curry leaves in a cooker.
  4. Mix everything really well.
  5. Cover with a lid and cook for 2 -3 whistles on medium flame.
  6. Turn off the flame and let it cool them .
  7. Transfer into bowl and serve with achar or milk.
