Poha is a flattened rice snack famous in the Indian subcontinent. The term Nylon Poha is a thin variety of flattened tice. The term Nylon has nothing to do with the yarn or fabric. Nylon Poha Chivda or Nylon Pauva CHevdo (Gujarati) is a special snack prepared especially during Diwali in the Gujarati and Rajasthani families.

  • 500 gms Nylon poha
  • 200 or 1.5 cup gms Daliya
  • 1 cup Peanut
  • 1/2 cup Oil
  • few Curry leaves
  • 3 tbsp Powder sugar
  • to taste Salt
  • 1.5 tbsp  Red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/3 cup Masala cashew
  • 1/4 cup Raisins

  • 500 gms Nylon poha

  • 1/2 cup Oil
  • few Curry leaves
  • 3 tbsp Powder sugar
  • to taste Salt
  • 1.5 tbsp  Red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/3 cup Masala cashew
  • 1/4 cup Raisins
Instructions
  1. Stir and roast poha for 5 to 7 minutes in a pan. Then transfer roasted poha to a plate or tas.
  2. Heat oil in the same pan and add curry leaves and peanuts and saute for 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. After 5 to 7 minutes, add daliya, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, cashew, raisins, and powder sugar in the pan.
  4. Mix everything well and saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Transfer this mixture into the poha plate and mix well.
  6. Serve nylon poha chivda with a tea.
