For chutney
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 2 tsp Urad dal
  • 3 Dry red chili
  • 1 inch Chopped ginger
  • 3 medium tomato
  • 2 medium Onion
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tsp Tamarind Pulp (imli)
  • 2 tsp Desiccated coconut
For tadka
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • pinch Hing
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • few Curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Sesame seeds(til)

  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 2 tsp Urad dal
  • 3 Dry red chili
  • 1 inch Chopped ginger
  • 3 medium tomato
  • 2 medium Onion
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tsp Tamarind Pulp (imli)
  • 2 tsp Desiccated coconut
For tadka
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • pinch Hing
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • few Curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp Sesame seeds(til)
Instructions
  1. Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan or Kadai and saute urad dal, dry red chili to a golden brown.
  2. Add in 1 inch chopped ginger and saute well. Also, add chopped 2 onion and saute well.
  3. Add chopped 3 tomatoes and saute till tomatoes become soft and mushy.
  4. Furthermore, add turmeric powder, salt, and tamarind pulp and saute well.
  5. Now, add desiccated coconut and mix it well. Turn off the flame and cool the mixture completely.
  6. Transfer to the mixer jar and blend to smooth chutney.
  7. Transfer the chutney to the bowl.
  8. Time to tadka-----
  9. Heat oil in a tadka pan and add mustard seeds. when seeds crackle then add hing, cumin seeds, curry leaves, and til.
  10. Mix it and saute for a few seconds. Pour this tadka on a chutney.
  11. Onion-tomato chutney is ready to serve.
