Sandwich Rava Dhokla

Dhokla is a famous recipe from Gujarat, India. Rava(Semolina) is the main ingridient. The fermentation process makes sure the Dhokla is soft and fluffy.

Sandwich Dhokla is prepared with a layer of Green Chutney inside. That is the main difference between Khaman dhokla and Sandwich dhokla.

  • 1 cup Semolina(rava)
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1 cup Water
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tsp Ginger paste
  • 2 Green chili  (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp Eno(soda)
  • to grease Oil
  • Green chutney
For tadka
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp Sesame seeds(til)
  • few Coriander leaves (chopped)

  • 1 cup Semolina(rava)
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1 cup Water

For tadka
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp Sesame seeds(til)
  • few Coriander leaves (chopped)
Instructions
  1. Take 1 cup rava and 1 cup curd in a mixing bowl.
  2. Mix it and keep aside for 15-20 minutes.
  3. After 20 minutes, add water,mix it and make a thick batter.
  4. Also, add salt, ginger paste, green chili, and eno in the bowl and mix it well.
  5. Now, grease oil to a steamer plate and pour 1 tablespoon of batter.
  6. Steam for 5 to 7 minutes on medium flame.
  7. After 7 minutes, spread green chutney on the dhokla's steaming plate.
  8. Also pour 1.5 tablespoon of the batter and spread it evenly on top of green chutney.
  9. Again, steam dhokla for 15 minutes.
  10. To make a tadka:::
  11. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When seeds crackle then add cumin seeds, hing and sesame seeds(til) and saute for a few seconds.
  12. Now, turn off the flame and keep aside.
  13. After 15 minutes, cut the dhoklas and pour the tadka evenly on top of dhokla.
  14. Serve hot dhokla with green chutney.
