Suji ka halwa | Rava halwa

Semolina is known as ‘Suji’ or ‘Sooji’ or ‘Rava’ in the Indian subcontinent. And the meaning of Halwa is Pudding. Well, this version of Suji ka Halwa is made of Semolina and Jaggery mainly. There are different dialects of this recipe are found in Southern and northern parts of India. In Karnataka, this recipe is also known as ‘Kesari bath’ whereas in Gujarat it is known as ‘Sooji no Halvo’. Let us know how it went for you.

  • 1 cup Semolina(rava)
  • 2 tbsp Wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup Ghee
  • 1 tbsp Raisins
  • 1 cup Water
  • 3/4 cup Grated jaggery(gur)
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder

  • 1 cup Semolina(rava)

  • 3/4 cup Ghee
  • 1 tbsp Raisins
  • 1 cup Water
  • 3/4 cup Grated jaggery(gur)
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
Instructions
  1. Take a non-stick pan and add rava, wheat flour, and ghee into the pan.
  2. Mix it well and cook till they become light brown or till the aroma comes to the mixture.
  3. Now, add raisins and mix it well. also, add water, jaggery(gur), and cardamom powder into the mixture.
  4. Mix it well and stir cook till they become thick from.
  5. Transfer rava halwa to a bowl.
  6. Garnish rava halwa with dry fruits and serve hot.
